Movistar made a press release today saying they will sell the iPhone 3G on Argentina, Chile, Colombia, Ecuador, El Salvador,Guatemala, Peru and Uruguay.

They announced that it will bring iPhone 2.0 Software (which we all knew…). “The demand for iPhone 3G has been unprecedented from our customers in the UK, Spain and Ireland and we expect the same success in Latin America,” said Jose María Álvarez-Pallete, managing director of Telefónica Latinoamérica.

Telefonica also stated that pricing details will be announced at a later date.

Comcel Colombia is also launching the iPhone that same day.

MEXICO CITY -(Dow Jones)- Mexico’s America Movil SAB (AMX), Latin America’s largest mobile operator, said Wednesday that it plans to launch the iPhone 3G in 10 more countries in the region at the end of the month.

In a press release, the company said the iPhone 3G will be available in Argentina, Chile, Colombia, Ecuador, El Salvador, Guatemala, Honduras, Paraguay, Peru and Uruguay on Aug. 22.

America Movil became the first carrier to offer the iPhone 3G, made by computer and multimedia firm Apple Inc (AAPL), in Latin America when it launched the handset in Mexico last month.

    Alot of bloggers are not really pleased with the new iPad.There was just too much hoopla over it and alot people got turned off.Quite frankly, I for one see some of the cool potential uses of the device. Third-party applications for playing tunes, games, papers and magazines and FFS books, all kinds of awesome stuff, but they failed to sell it right (excluding the books). It looks kind of incomplete
